Hi, I’m Jeremy the owner of saratoga Jewelry Co.
Today I want to tell you about rhodium plating, often referred to as “dipping”. Nearly all white gold jewelry is rhodium plated to give the jewelry a true white metal look, like platinum.
We can also dip your yellow gold jewelry to give it that same breautful white appearance.

Correct rhodium plating should include these steps:

Step 1 Cleaning – clean the ring in an ultrasonic cleaner and steamer
Step 2 Check stones – by looking at the ring under magnification we can see any loose stones or worn prongs
Step 3 File and sand – at the bench we use special tools to remove the dings ands scratches
Step 4 Polishing machine – using high speed buffs and compounds we give the rings a highpolish mirror finish and clean the ring agian
Step 5 Electro clean the ring to remove any oils
Step 6 Rhodium Plate!

Thats how rhodium plating is done right.

As you wear your jewelry, this process will need to be redone occasionally, depending on your lifestyle and body chemestry.
